Grok Bot SEO · Updated October 4, 2026

Put Grok Bot on SEO duty.

Grok chat writes a title tag when you ask. Grok Bot has its own computer. It can audit your site, fix the code, ship new pages and do it again tomorrow morning. This guide shows you how to set that up, and where it still needs help.

The template and setup code are from SEOAgent, the team that publishes this site. Free Skill, CLI and dashboard. Autopilot is $49 per site per month after a 14-day free trial, no card. You need a Grok Bot (SuperGrok or a paid Cursor plan).

Get this right first

Grok chat and Grok Bot are different products

Most “Grok SEO” advice is about the chat. The chat is useful for ideas. It cannot run your SEO, because it cannot touch your site.

What it can do

What a Grok Bot can do for your SEO

A Grok Bot with the right setup covers the work an SEO hire would do in a normal week.

technical

Find and fix technical SEO

Missing titles and descriptions, broken links, bad canonicals, missing schema, sitemap gaps. The Bot finds them and commits the fix.

keywords

Research keywords with real numbers

Grok is strong at reading X and the web for what people ask. Pair it with real search volume and Search Console data so the Bot picks winnable terms.

content

Write and ship pages

From brief to published page: the Bot writes, links it to related pages, adds metadata and opens a pull request or posts to your CMS.

reporting

Watch Search Console for you

Every Monday: what gained clicks, what dropped, which pages sit on page two and are worth a refresh. In plain words.

ai search

Get cited by AI answers

Clear answers, FAQ blocks, structured data and an llms.txt file make your pages easy for Grok, ChatGPT and others to quote.

routine

Do it again tomorrow

Grok Bot routines run on a schedule, even when your laptop is closed. SEO rewards the site that keeps going.

The honest part

What a Grok Bot still needs

A Grok Bot is the hands. Out of the box, it does not know your rankings, your traffic or what to do first. Give it these four things and it stops guessing.

1. Real data

Language models invent search volumes. The Bot needs Google Search Console and a keyword source with real volume and difficulty.

2. A playbook

What to check, in what order, and what “done” looks like. Saved as a skill, so every run follows the same steps.

3. A queue

A ranked list of what to work on today. Without one, the Bot fixes whatever it notices first, not what moves traffic.

4. Memory of results

What shipped, when, and what happened to rankings after. This is how the next week’s plan gets better.

You can build all four yourself with skills and routines. See Grok Bot skills for SEO. Or use an SEO harness that ships them. We built SEOAgent for this: a free Skill and CLI the Bot runs, plus a cloud queue fed by your Search Console.

Setup

Set it up in three steps

About ten minutes, most of it waiting for Search Console. Full walkthrough: How to use Grok Bot for SEO.

  1. Get Grok Bot

Grok Bot comes with SuperGrok and with paid Cursor plans. Open it on desktop or iOS.

  2. Add the SEO template

Click “Add to Grok Bot” on the SEOAgent template. The Bot asks for your domain and email, gets a one-time setup code, installs the CLI and logs in. It tells you when it is done.

  3. Connect data, set a routine

Connect Google Search Console in the SEOAgent dashboard. Then tell the Bot when to work, for example “every weekday at 8 AM”.

Frequently asked questions

What is Grok Bot SEO?

Grok Bot SEO means giving a Grok Bot, xAI’s agent product, the job of running your search engine optimization: auditing the site, fixing technical issues, researching keywords, writing and publishing pages, and reporting on Search Console. It is different from asking Grok chat for SEO tips, because a Grok Bot has its own computer and can do the work on a schedule.

Can Grok do SEO on its own?

Grok chat cannot. It can suggest keywords and write a title tag, but it cannot read your Search Console, change your files or come back tomorrow. A Grok Bot can do the work, but it still needs real data and a plan. Without them it guesses search volumes and fixes things in a random order. That is why most people pair a Grok Bot with an SEO tool or skill.

Do I need to pay for Grok Bot?

At launch, xAI made Grok Bot available on SuperGrok plans and on paid Cursor plans (Pro, Pro+, Ultra and Teams), on desktop and iOS. Check xAI’s Grok Bot docs for the current plans and limits, because they can change.

How much does SEOAgent cost with Grok Bot?

The SEOAgent Skill, CLI and dashboard are free, and include Google Search Console. The 24/7 autopilot queue costs $49 per site per month after a 14-day free trial, no card.

Will a Grok Bot change my website without asking?

You decide. Grok Bot asks for approval before actions such as publishing, sending messages and production changes. Shell commands and file edits follow your Auto Review rules. SEOAgent adds its own switch: changes can be staged automatically, or you can review each one first.

Does this work for WordPress, Shopify or Webflow sites?

Yes, with one difference. If your site is built from a code repository, the Bot edits the repository. If your site lives on a hosted platform such as WordPress.com, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or Ghost, the Bot publishes through that platform’s API where one exists. Where there is no API, it gives you the finished page to paste in.

Is it safe to give a Grok Bot my logins?

Follow xAI’s rule: do not paste passwords or one-time codes into chat. Use the secure handoff that Grok Bot gives you. Also know that the Bot computer belongs to your account, so every Bot on that account can see the same files and sign-ins. The SEOAgent setup uses a one-time code instead of a password for this reason.

Is GrokBotSEO run by xAI?

No. GrokBotSEO is an independent guide published by the team behind SEOAgent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by xAI or X Corp.
